Do you offer pond inspections for home buyers and sellers?

Are you getting ready to buy a home that has an existing pond or water feature?

We offer a comprehensive Pond Inspection so that you can be assured you are taking over a feature that will bring you calm and serenity, not a giant headache.

Our inspection includes:

a complete leak inspection
a full list of all equipment
a walk-through of the feature for the new homeowner

Can you find and fix pond leaks?

We have a step by step process to figure out where the pond or feature leak is coming from and we can repair it. We have worked with leaks for years!

Having to pull the hose out to fill up the pond over and over can be extremely frustrating. While it seems like there would be a pool of leaking water to make it obvious where the issue is, it never works that way. Did you know that during the summer, normal evaporation rate can be 2 to 3 inches a week from your feature? It can, no matter the size of the pond! If your feature is losing more than that, it could be a pond leak!

Do you offer cleanouts?

Yes! We clean ponds and water features.

Our comprehensive cleanout service includes:

* removal of water
* fish to be placed in portable pond during the cleaning
* pressure filter to be backwashed (if present)
* Iongen probe to be cleaned
* thorough pressure washing of all surfaces
* cleaning of equipment and filter media
* will trim back plants

Does your pond need something different than the list above? No problem! We are flexible and want to listen to your needs!

What sort of regular maintenance plans do you offer?

Pond maintenance options are custom priced for your individual pond and water feature needs.
A basic Pond Harmony Plan includes:

💧Clean & rinse filters and baskets
🍃 Tidy up - remove debris and general tidy up
🌿 Plants - trim, fertilize and cutback as needed. We can add plants if requested (cost depends on plants)
🐟 Water treatments - beneficial bacteria and specific treatments as needed
💧 Partial water change as needed
🧪 Water Test (pH, ammonia, nitrite, & nitrate)
🐟 Equipment maintenance
👀 Water loss look-out. We keep an eye on water levels and watch out for low liner
🍁 Fall Prep and Winter Prep (material cost for net depends on the size of pond)

Can you help with pond plants?

You bet! Kristi absolutely LOVES aquatic plants! She has worked with them for years and knows which plants work well in Colorado ponds. She can tell you which ones can be invasive, which ones can be controlled and which have colorful flowers!

Do you offer algae treatments?

Yes we do! When we work with your pond, we are working with the ecosystem to find long term solutions.

Yes, we can add some treatment to fight algae. We also would like to figure out the root cause of the problem and support the ecosystem so that algae is not an ongoing problem.

Did you know there are SO MANY thousands of different types of algae? Yes! We help figure out what is causing it and what to do about it.

Do you build residential ponds?

Yes, we build ponds and pondless water features for your outdoor living spaces.

Following the Aquascape contractor method, we work with the existing landscape and yard contour to create a natural looking feature.

We build ponds with 40 mil epdm liner and natural boulders. While our ponds are usually built to hold fish, they don't have to be just for fish! We specialize in creating a natural look and ponds that benefit the ecosystem.

We know all about aquatic pond plants and can help your pond become a lush and green ecosystem with crystal clear water.

We also build pondless waterfalls (just like it sounds, the sight and sound of a small river without the pond).

What about size? Did you know we can build a 5 foot stream (pondless waterfall) or a pond that is so large that the family can swim in it? We do! We build recreational ponds for your whole family to enjoy.

Do you offer commercial pond construction?

We do! From HOAs, to golf clubs, Assisted Living facilities to schools, we are here to make something beautiful for your clients!

Where is Sweetwater Ponds located? Is there a store?

We are based out of Longmont, Colorado. This gives us a fantastic centrally located base to service from Fort Collins to the Denver area.

We offer pond and water feature services, but do not have a store. If you are looking for a particular piece of equipment or product, give us call, we will point you in the right direction.

Are you a Aquascape Certified Contractor?

Israel and Kristi have worked in an Aquascape Certified Contractor business. We have been through the Aquascape contractor training. As Sweetwater Ponds, we wanted the flexibility to use the products that were best for our clients, regardless of the brand. We use the Aquascape method when we build and service ponds. We typically use Aquascape pumps, liners and other products. We would also like to remain open to the wide variety of amazing pond products that are out there.
